At around midnight on Thursday, an inter-agency inspection team responsible for animal disease prevention and slaughter control inspected vehicles transporting animals and animal products on National Highway 22 in Cu Chi Commune, Ho Chi Minh City.

The team found that driver P.V.U. was transporting 385 Muscovy ducks and 120 chickens, weighing around 1.3 tonnes in total, from Dong Nai City to Ho Chi Minh City for consumption.

The driver said the entire shipment lacked animal quarantine certificates required for transport out of the province.
