The study found that 59 percent of Vietnamese firms favor a hybrid model that combines in-house capabilities with external providers, while 37 percent plan to rely entirely on Security Operations Center as a Service (SOCaaS).
Globally, 64 percent of companies surveyed said they plan to outsource part of their SOC operations, while 26 percent are prepared to adopt a fully outsourced SOCaaS model, the report showed.
Only nine percent of companies worldwide intend to build a fully in-house SOC, reflecting growing challenges in maintaining round-the-clock monitoring and recruiting and retaining skilled cybersecurity professionals, Kaspersky said.
Companies generally aim to keep strategic security functions in-house while outsourcing operational and technically specialized tasks.
Among organizations planning to outsource, the most commonly delegated functions include solution deployment and installation, solution development and delivery, and SOC design.
Vietnamese companies showed a higher willingness than the global average to outsource these functions, with 82 percent outsourcing deployment and installation, 75 percent outsourcing solution development and delivery, and 79 percent outsourcing SOC design, the report said.
Kaspersky said the trend reflects efforts by companies to maintain 24/7 cyber defense, meet regulatory requirements, and gain access to advanced technologies and specialized expertise that are difficult to build internally.
