It is expected to become one of the largest multi-athlete sporting events ever staged in the Southeast Asian country.
Organizers of the 2026 Pickleball World Cup have confirmed plans to bring the international competition to Vietnam, exciting players and fans.
The move underscores both the sport’s rapid global expansion and its increasing popularity across Asia.
The annual global sport event has grown dramatically since its inception in 2023.
The inaugural tournament featured just 14 athletes representing a handful of countries.
In 2024, participation expanded to competitors from 33 nations.
Notably, the 2025 edition marked a breakthrough, drawing more than 3,000 players from 68 countries and territories, with matches held in the United States.
“For the first time ever, the Pickleball World Cup is heading to Asia, and we’re bringing it to Da Nang,” the Facebook page of the Pickleball World Cup wrote.
“A new chapter begins. A new stage is set. A new energy rises from the heart of Asia.
“This is more than a destination – it’s where passion meets purpose, where players become history, and where the world comes together through sport."
In the 2025 season, Vietnam fielded a team competing in Group H, but no specific records of achievements were reported.
Despite its rapid growth, the Pickleball World Cup remains relatively new compared to other international pickleball circuits, and continues to establish its standing within a global landscape of competitions.
The 2026 tournament is expected to feature hundreds of matches throughout the week-long event in Da Nang, with live broadcasts available on the FPT Play platform.
