On Monday, the region is expected to remain under the influence of a hot low-pressure system from the west and a subtropical high-pressure system over south-central Vietnam.
These conditions will bring clear skies and intense heat, with peak sunshine between 12:00 pm and 4:00 pm.
Temperatures will reach 34-37 degrees Celsius, with some areas exceeding 37 degrees Celsius.
Starting Tuesday, an equatorial low-pressure trough is expected to move northward over the East Vietnam Sea and southern land areas.
While daytime heat will persist, thunderstorms are forecast in the late afternoon and evening.
By Wednesday and Thursday, the rain-bearing system will stabilize, reducing the intensity and coverage of the heat.
Scattered showers and thunderstorms are likely in the evenings, offering relief from the oppressive weather.
The southern region’s weather agency warned that unstable atmospheric conditions could trigger hail, lightning, strong gusts, and whirlwinds during storms.
The combination of high evaporation and convective cloud formation increases the risk of severe weather events.
