The shop was also required to destroy these products.
The administrative penalty issuance was signed by vice-chairman of the Da Nang People’s Committee Tran Chi Cuong, targeting Mega Premium Shopping Mall, a retail establishment located on Tran Phu Street.
The shop was found guilty of displaying and selling counterfeit products labeled with world-famous brands.
Following an inspection, market surveillance officials uncovered 232 counterfeit items, including handbags, wallets, sunglasses, scarves, and belts, featuring the logos of Gucci, Chanel, Dior, Bottega Veneta, and Celine, all of which are legally protected in Vietnam.
The total value of the seized goods was estimated at over VND183.5 million ($7,000).
The case is one of several recent enforcement actions in Da Nang, where authorities have intensified efforts to combat the sale of counterfeit goods and items of unknown origin.
Two other retail establishments were also penalized.
The business operating under the name ‘Gu’ was fined a total of VND122.5 million ($4,700) for selling bogus branded goods and trading products of unknown origin.
The store was ordered to destroy all fake products and surrender undocumented goods.
Another store, Black Label Shop, was fined over VND111 million ($4,250) for similar offenses involving the sale of fake branded goods.
