The Ha Na Commune People's Committee confirmed on Saturday that it had installed warning signs and prohibited unauthorized visitors from taking part in spontaneous trekking activities in the mountain area.
According to local authorities, Bang Am Mountain has not been licensed for tourism activities.
However, many people have organized their own trips to explore the area in recent times, posing potential safety risks.
The mountain features steep slopes, deep ravines and numerous slippery sections, making it particularly dangerous during the rainy and stormy season.
On Thursday, authorities discovered that a foreigner had died after an accident while trekking to the summit without authorization.
A Ha Na Commune leader said the locality was entering the rainy and stormy season, when the risk of accidents at unregulated trekking sites increases.
The authorities have therefore installed prohibition signs and coordinated with forest protection forces to inform and warn residents and visitors against entering the area without permission.
Following the fatal accident, people familiar with the terrain have also shared warnings on social media that the route to Bang Am's summit is unsuitable for inexperienced motorbike riders and people riding scooters.
According to these posts, the road leading to the mountain has extremely steep slopes and many dangerous bends.
It is said to be much more hazardous than the road to Son Tra Peninsula.
Inexperienced riders and women planning to ride up the mountain are advised to carefully consider the risks, while scooter riders face a particularly high risk of accidents when descending.

Bang Am Mountain, also known as Am Thong or Tung Son, is a scenic attraction and emerging trekking destination in western Da Nang.
Its summit is approximately 830-840 meters above sea level and about 40 kilometers from the city center.
The area features limestone terrain and a basin covering around 300 hectares, surrounded by hills and streams such as Khe Lim, Khe Hoc, Khe Hung and Khe Nuoc Do.
It has fresh air, lush green grasslands, stretches of white sand and pebbles along rolling mountain slopes, dense forests, wild orchids and verdant fern carpets.
At times, the mountain is shrouded in mist, creating scenery likened to Ba Na or a "gateway to heaven".
According to the Ha Na Commune People's Committee leader, Bang Am is included in Da Nang's investment attraction plan. Relevant authorities are calling for investment to tap and promote the area's natural resources.
