Vietnam holds live-fire bombing, shooting drills

Senior Lieutenant General Pham Truong Son, deputy chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army, attended and directed the drills.

The live-fire exercises were designed to assess pilots' ability to conduct combat flight missions and strike ground targets during both daytime and nighttime operations.

The drills are aimed at evaluating the capabilities of commanders, command staff, flight controllers and pilots, as well as their ability to coordinate combat operations while carrying out missions involving live weapons.

The exercises are intended to provide practical lessons for the direction and organization of flight training, contributing to improving the units' combat proficiency, operational capabilities, and readiness in the coming period.

According to the drill steering committee, fighter and helicopter pilots from participating units demonstrate confidence, composure, and solid psychological readiness.

They have carried out attacks in accordance with prescribed procedures and techniques, managed to complete their assigned missions, and maintained absolute safety throughout the exercises.

A number of pilots are taking part in live-fire bombing and shooting exercises for the first time.

However, they have successfully destroyed their designated targets, demonstrating the professionalism, skills, capabilities, and growing maturity of young pilots.
