Vietnam’s futsal team recorded their second consecutive victory at the AFC Futsal Asian Cup 2026 with a 2-0 win over Lebanon on Thursday afternoon, in Group B held in Indonesia.

Vietnamese players made a dream start, opening the scoring in their very first attacking move.

Thinh Phat showed great composure before providing an assist for Dinh Cong Vien, who finished from close range to give Vietnam an early lead.

Just a minute later, head coach Diego Giustozzi’s team nearly doubled the advantage when Doan Phat’s powerful strike crashed against the post.

The second goal soon arrived in the fifth minute, as goalkeeper Pham Van Tu launched a long ball forward for Ngoc Anh, who burst through and scored after two quick attempts.

Holding a 2-0 lead, Vietnam dropped deeper into a compact defensive shape and looked to strike on the counter.

This approach frustrated Lebanon, who were forced to rely heavily on long-range efforts.

One such attempt in the 11th minute saw goalkeeper Tu produce an excellent save from Ali Hamam’s shot.

The remainder of the first half saw chances at both ends, but no further goals were added.

Thai Huy narrowly missed the target in the 15th minute, while goalkeeper Tu continued his outstanding performance with two crucial saves in the 16th and 19th minutes to deny Lebanese attackers.

Early in the second half, Vietnam again threatened when Thai Huy fired from close range, only to be denied by an impressive save from the Lebanon goalkeeper.

However, Vietnam faced a setback in the 26th minute when Ngoc Linh was shown a second yellow card for a dangerous foul, forcing his team to play with one man fewer for two minutes.

Lebanon pressed forward aggressively with the numerical advantage, but the Vietnamese goalkeeper stood firm with a series of excellent saves.

Even after Vietnam returned to full strength, they continued to come under heavy pressure.

Lebanon came close to scoring in the 33rd minute when Ossaman’s shot beat the goalkeeper but struck both posts before bouncing out.

In the 36th minute, Lebanon opted for a power-play strategy, removing their goalkeeper in search of a breakthrough.

Despite sustained pressure, Vietnam defended resolutely to preserve their clean sheet and secure the victory.

On Tuesday, Vietnam beat Kuwait 5-4 in the Group B opener.

With two wins from two matches, Vietnam now hold a strong position in the race for the quarter-finals.
