The ride-hailing company announced on Saturday its “Green Winter – For a Green Future” program, which will run from November 8 to February 28, 2027, aiming to stimulate travel demand toward the end of the year and encourage the use of green transportation.
Under the program, all rides booked through the Green SM platform will automatically receive a 25-percent fare discount. The nearly four-month promotion covers the year-end travel peak and the 2027 Lunar New Year holiday.
Notably, Green SM is also introducing income support policies for its drivers. Drivers who register to work exclusively on the platform will receive 100 percent of each ride's fare before the 25-percent passenger discount is applied.
Green SM will also waive all platform fees, which normally stand at 6 percent for cars and 6.7 percent for motorbikes.
In addition, these drivers will receive free electric vehicle charging up to an allowance equivalent to twice the number of kilometers they operate.
For Green SM's full-time drivers and those working for partner companies, the company said it would introduce additional income support equivalent to up to 6 percent of their revenue.

Pham Nhat Minh Hoang, CEO of GSM Global, said the program aims to reduce travel costs for the public while enabling drivers to earn more as passenger demand and the number of rides increase.
The company expects drivers' incomes to rise by 30-50 percent through a combination of revenue-sharing policies, platform fee waivers and operational bonuses.
This is a projected increase announced by the company, not a guaranteed income rise for every driver.
In addition to direct support policies, Green SM said nearly 100 percent of its drivers in Vietnam had joined its accumulating accident insurance program.
The company is also studying the introduction of health insurance and maintaining other healthcare and welfare policies.
According to figures released by Green SM, the platform had completed around 850 million rides as of September 2026, with the company estimating that it had helped reduce CO2 emissions by more than 800,000 metric tons.
The new promotion comes amid continued competition in the ride-hailing market over fares, commission policies and driver incomes, particularly as travel demand rises toward the end of the year.
