Vietnam's Vingroup sets new record with $5.7bn state budget payment in 2025

According to the 2026 PRIVATE 100 ranking of Vietnam's top private companies by state budget contributions, recently published by CafeF, a Vietnamese business and financial news outlet, Vingroup topped the list with VND148.773 trillion ($5.704 billion) paid to the state budget in 2025, Lao Dong (Labor) newspaper reported.

The amount was 165 percent higher than the more than VND56.2 trillion ($2.16 billion) the conglomerate paid in 2024.

Vingroup's 2025 contribution makes it the first private company in Vietnam to pay more than VND100 trillion ($3.83 billion) to the state coffers in a single year, also marking a breakthrough for the country's private business sector.

The amount was equivalent to an average payment of over VND407 billion ($15.6 million) per day.

A Vingroup representative said the surge in the group's tax payments to the state budget reflected growth across its entire ecosystem.

The group recorded more than VND332.808 trillion ($12.76 billion) in revenue and VND11.146 trillion ($427.2 million) in after-tax profit in 2025, up 76 percent and 111 percent, respectively, from the previous year.

The strong performance continued in the first half of 2026, when its consolidated net revenue reached VND222.3 trillion ($8.51 billion), up 72.5 percent year on year.

Its consolidated after-tax profit surged 4.5-fold to VND20.375 trillion ($780.2 million) in the period, fulfilling 58 percent of its full-year profit target.

In the technology and industrial segment, VinFast, Vingroup's electric vehicle arm, delivered more than 115,916 electric cars in Vietnam in the first half of 2026, up 72 percent year on year, bringing its global deliveries to 128,662 vehicles, according to Vingroup.

VinFast's electric motorbike deliveries also surged, reaching nearly 429,175 units, 3.7 times the figure recorded in the same period last year.

VinFast has expanded its international presence, with 474 showrooms concentrated in key Asian markets, Lao Dong reported.

Meanwhile, in the commercial and services segment, Vinhomes posted VND134.2 trillion ($5.14 billion) in converted revenue in the first half, three times the figure recorded a year earlier.

Vinpearl, Vingroup's hospitality arm, also continued to expand its tourism and hospitality ecosystem and broaden its portfolio of brands, according to the company.

Beyond these business segments, Vingroup is also expanding into new growth areas, particularly infrastructure and green energy.
