VinFast expands overseas as Q2 revenue surges 85.5%

VinFast’s revenue from its electric vehicle business in the second quarter of 2026 rose 32.9 percent from the previous quarter, according to its unaudited financial report released on Monday.

The growth was driven by record global deliveries of 70,085 electric cars, a 96-percent increase year on year. Overseas markets accounted for approximately 11 percent of the total, equivalent to around 7,700 vehicles.

In the first half of the year, the Vietnamese brand rose to the top of the electric car market in the Philippines, while ranking among the top five in India and the top eight in Indonesia.

In Vietnam, VinFast remained Vietnam’s top-selling automaker for 22 consecutive months, holding a 38-percent market share as of the end of June.

Two newly launched models, the next-generation VF 8 and the VF 2, quickly attracted strong demand, receiving more than 12,700 and 28,700 orders, respectively, within days of going on sale.

VinFast's electric two-wheeler business also recorded strong growth, with deliveries reaching 286,039 units in the second quarter, more than four times the figure recorded in the same period last year. The company's global retail network has expanded to 474 stores.

Pham Nhat Quan Anh, chairman and CEO of VinFast, said the company would focus on developing its presence in the Philippines, Indonesia and India while expanding operations in the United States and Europe.

Alongside its market expansion, VinFast continues to develop new products and autonomous driving technologies while optimizing its capital resources to improve business efficiency.

Vietnam remains the company's core market, although overseas sales are gradually accounting for a larger share of its overall deliveries.
