Visitors flout road safety for photos near central Vietnam's wind farm

A road connecting National Route 1A to Cam Hong Beach in Quang Tri Province has gone viral on social media for its iconic backdrop of wind turbines stretching across the horizon.

Impressed by the view, numerous travelers frequently pull over to snap photos. To capture the scenery, however, many have been parking along the shoulder and stepping directly into active lanes to film or take selfies.

This creates severe hazards, particularly given the high-speed traffic on this corridor.

According to Cam Hong Commune police, officers have recently logged multiple instances of cars stopping along this stretch near the wind farm, with people seen standing, walking, or gathering directly in the path of oncoming traffic.

In response, local law enforcement has stepped up patrols and educational outreach.

Officers recently issued warnings to two individuals for illegal parking, ordering them to clear the roadway to prevent accidents.

Authorities emphasized that stopping or parking in restricted zones, obstructing traffic, or walking in active lanes carries administrative fines under Vietnamese law. Severe cases resulting in serious accidents could face criminal prosecution.

Police urged both locals and visitors to strictly obey traffic laws and avoid risking their lives for a photograph. They confirmed that patrols and enforcement will remain intensified to maintain road safety.

Beyond this coastal site, other wind power projects in western Quang Tri, such as those in Huong Phung Commune, are also drawing steady streams of sightseers.
