Along Nguyen Truc Street, a main access road for hundreds of households, garbage is scattered on both sides of the road, with overflowing bins blocking traffic and emitting strong odors.
Some waste has been burned on sidewalks, sending up smoke and acrid smells, residents said.

Nguyen Thi Loi, head of residential group 22, said the dumping site has existed for years, with waste from multiple areas piling up and worsening during hot weather.
Residents have called for the relocation of the site away from populated areas, citing health and environmental concerns.

Nguyen Thi Thanh, head of residential group 23, said some people burn waste to collect recyclable materials, further degrading air quality.
She added that the area has seen growth in tourism facilities in recent years, while the presence of waste has affected the local environment.
"I have often seen foreign tourists picking up trash around their accommodations," Thanh said.

Similar informal dumping sites have been observed along Hoang Sa coastal road, where household waste, sugarcane residue, and coconut husks are commonly discarded.
The People's Committee of Son Tra Commune said they would inspect and address the issue following residents' complaints.
