World leaders reaffirm ties with Vietnam in National Day messages

Vietnam’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs said leaders from many countries sent congratulatory messages and letters to Party General Secretary and State President To Lam, Prime Minister Le Minh Hung and National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man on the occasion.

The messages praised Vietnam’s achievements in national defense, development and socioeconomic growth, as well as its rising international standing.

Many leaders expressed confidence that Vietnam will continue to achieve its development goals and affirmed their countries’ desire to deepen bilateral cooperation.

Laos emphasized that Vietnam’s achievements provide valuable experience and great encouragement for Laos’ own efforts to protect, build and develop the country.

Despite complex developments in the regional and international situation, Laos said it remains determined to work closely with Vietnam to protect and strengthen the bilateral relationship.

Lao leaders expressed confidence that the Vietnam-Laos relationship will remain strong and enduring for the benefit of the two peoples and for peace, stability and development in the region and the world.

In China, the country’s top leaders congratulated Vietnam on its achievements, saying its economy and society have remained stable and developed rapidly while its regional and international influence has continued to grow.

Chinese leaders expressed confidence that, under the leadership of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam headed by Party General Secretary and State President To Lam, Vietnam will successfully accomplish the goals and tasks set by its 14th national congress and make strong progress toward its centenary goals for the founding of the Party and the country.

China reaffirmed that it regards Vietnam as a priority in its neighborhood diplomacy.

China is ready to work with Vietnam to promote traditional friendship, strengthen solidarity and cooperation, and make bilateral ties more substantive and deeper, bringing greater practical benefits to the two peoples and contributing more to peace and progress around the world, Chinese leaders said.

Leaders of Cambodia reaffirmed that Cambodia always attaches importance to its relationship with Vietnam as one of “good-neighborliness, traditional friendship, comprehensive cooperation and long-term sustainability.”

Cambodian leaders expressed confidence that the two peoples would achieve greater successes in the present and future, further strengthening friendship, solidarity and close, mutually beneficial cooperation.

They also pledged to continue working closely with Vietnamese leaders to deepen bilateral ties and promote peace, stability and prosperity in the region.

Russian leaders, including President Vladimir Putin and Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, said Vietnam and Russia have stood side by side for decades through a long and challenging journey.

The comprehensive strategic partnership between Vietnam and Russia is developing positively, they said.

In a spirit of friendship and mutual respect, the two countries will continue promoting bilateral initiatives and cooperation while coordinating closely on regional and international issues in the interests of their peoples.

Dmitry Medvedev, chairman of the United Russia Party, also sent a congratulatory letter to Vietnamese Party General Secretary and State President To Lam.

North Korean leaders, including General Secretary and President of State Affairs Kim Jong Un and Prime Minister Pak Thae Song, congratulated Vietnam’s leaders, Party, government and people and expressed confidence that the traditional friendship between the two countries would continue to develop broadly in line with agreements reached by their senior leaders.

They also wished the Vietnamese Party, government and people greater achievements in the years ahead.

Leaders of Mongolia affirmed that they would work with Vietnam to implement high-level agreements between the two countries and further develop and strengthen the Mongolia-Vietnam comprehensive partnership in the new period of development.

U.S. President Donald Trump praised Vietnam’s independence, describing it as a testament to the strength and resilience of the Vietnamese people and a legacy that inspires friendship between the two countries.

Trump welcomed progress under the comprehensive strategic partnership and affirmed that the U.S. values its relationship with Vietnam, as well as the two countries’ shared commitment to peace, prosperity and stability in the Indo-Pacific.

The U.S. also praised Vietnam’s growing role in global leadership as a founding member of the Board of Peace and expressed a desire to build on progress already achieved and work together for shared prosperity and security.

Japanese Emperor Naruhito sent warm congratulations and sincere best wishes to Vietnamese Party chief To Lam, wishing him happiness and the Vietnamese people prosperity.

French President Emmanuel Macron said he was pleased that regular exchanges since To Lam became General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee had helped the two sides build trust and friendship and strengthen the close ties between the two peoples.

France and Vietnam, as well as the European Union and ASEAN, share a commitment to multilateralism and the peaceful settlement of disputes, Macron said.

He stressed the need to maintain international peace and security while also working for global interests.

He called for continued efforts to protect the climate, biodiversity and oceans for future generations.

In a message from the United Kingdom, King Charles III said Vietnam’s National Day was a valuable opportunity to reflect on the enduring friendship between the two countries.

The king reaffirmed his appreciation for close bilateral ties and pledged to continue contributing to increasingly close cooperation in the years ahead.

As the two countries face common challenges of the era, particularly climate change and the protection of the natural world, King Charles III expressed hope that they would continue working together on meaningful and sustainable solutions.

Foreign ministers and senior diplomatic officials from Laos, China, Cambodia, Russia, North Korea, Mongolia and France also sent congratulatory messages to Vietnamese Minister of Foreign Affairs Le Hoai Trung on the occasion.
