“I first began reading The Saigon Times during my earlier posting at the Consulate-General of Japan in Ho Chi Minh City, from 1994 to 1998. Those were exciting times, with Vietnam opening up under the Doi Moi reforms and many Japanese companies were establishing their presence in southern Vietnam. As an officer responsible for economic affairs at the Consulate-General in those days, I found the up-to-date information The Saigon Times provided on Vietnam’s economy truly invaluable — and I am sure the Japanese business community here shared that sentiment.

Too strict a diet may have negative impacts on both physical and mental health.
According to Suc khoe & Doi song news site, one should pay close attention to the following signs to timely adjust his/her diet: Tiredness: The fatigue, sleepiness and weariness occuring for a long time is one of the signs of malnutrition many people face during their adoption of an extreme diet. The reason is that the body is not supplied with enough energy and essential nutrients for basic daily activities, which causes bad impacts on physical and mental health. Studies show that the excessive cut of calorie supply for the body (lower than 1,000 calories per day) may slow down the metabolism process, thus affecting the conversion of food to energy for the body. In addition, the deficiency of essential nutrients such as vitamins C and B complex, and minerals like calcium, zinc and iron also causes a shortage of energy for the body. Hair loss: Hair loss is a normal phenomenon. However, the loss of a big amount of hair after combing or shampooing is an abnormal sign, which indicates that you are short of certain nutrients necessary for hair to grow well and healthily. The deficiency of calories, proteins, biotin (vitamin B7), iron and some other nutrients is the main reason for hair loss. Therefore, when seeing the loss of hair, adjust your diet to be more balanced and scientific. Dry and dark skin: The skin is like a mirror that reflects what you eat and drink every day. A diet that does not supply enough water, vitamins A, D and E, and omega-3 fatty acids will give rise to dry and dark skin. This is because the nutrients mentioned above are necessary for maintaining water and humidity for the skin, thus retarding the aging process and preventing the formation of wrinkles. Weak body resistance: A strict diet that is short of nutrients may decrease the production and functioning of the immune cells and antibodies, which makes the body unable to fight infections and pathogens. This exposes you to the risks of easily catching cold or flu. Hunger and craving for foods: If you often feel hungry and crave for foods, it indicates that you are adopting an improper diet that lacks essential nutrients. Make sure that you are consuming enough proteins and dietary fiber, which help you feel full for a longer time. In addition, having several meals during the day can also help contain the hunger feeling. In short, a diet that is balanced and scientific plays an important role for human health. To ensure a safe and proper weight loss, you should consult your doctor or nutritionist before adopting any diet. Weight loss is a long process that requires persistence. You should learn your body well so as to be able to adjust your diet to best suit your need.
