HCMC - A sleeper bus lost control and crashed into a roadside marker before overturning on National Highway 1 in Ha Tinh Province, leaving nine dead and 15 injured.
The accident occurred at around 1:45 a.m. on July 25 in Song Tri Commune, Ha Tinh Province, according to local media reports. At that time, the sleeper bus, bearing a Danang license plate and driven by Le Ngoc Thanh (a 36-year-old resident in Thanh Hoa Province), was en route from Hanoi to Danang. Upon reaching Song Tri Ward in Ha Tinh Province, the bus lost control, crashed into roadside markers, and overturned. Traffic police said that, according to the driver's initial testimony, the cause of the accident was a front tire blowout, which led to the vehicle overturning. The driver tested negative for alcohol and drugs. Immediately after the accident, Ha Tinh Provincial Police directed relevant forces to carry out rescue operations and launched an investigation in accordance with regulations.
