HCMC — Vietnam’s coffee exports to Germany soared 113% in the first half of the year to over US$824.85 million, showed data from the Ministry of Industry and Trade.

Germany was Vietnam’s top coffee market, accounting for 16.3% of total coffee shipments. Average export prices climbed over 59% year-on-year to more than US$5,700 per ton. Vietnam was Germany’s second-largest coffee supplier after Brazil. Exports of other goods to Germany also increased. Computers, electronics, and components rose 30% to US$551.85 million. Seafood exports rose 6% to US$100.5 million. Cashew nuts jumped 25% to US$79.6 million, and fruit and vegetables increased 24% to US$39.79 million. Textile and garment exports reached US$446.11 million, up 22%. Footwear edged up 2% to US$379.55 million. Vietnam’s imports from Germany rose 7.4% in the period. Machinery and equipment accounted for US$688.04 million, up 12%. Pharmaceutical imports surged 38% to US$225.5 million. Electronics and components climbed 25% to US$91.23 million. Germany is Vietnam’s second-largest trading partner in the EU and twelfth globally.
