HCMC - Vietnam's population has surpassed 100 million people, marking a demographic milestone for the Southeast Asian nation even as it faces declining birth rates and a rapidly aging population.

HCMC – Many areas in Ha Giang Province have been hit hard by downpours, resulting in the widespread inundation and landslides in Vi Xuyen District, Ha Giang City and Hoang Su Phi District.
Ha Giang Chairman Nguyen Van Son on July 21 sent urgent dispatches to the provincial committee for natural disaster control, search and rescue and other relevant agencies, asking them to promptly adopt effective measures to combat floods triggered by heavy rains, Dan Tri Online reported. Torrential rains would last until the end of July 22, posing high risks of flash floods and landslides in many areas in the province, according to the province’s weather forecasting center. To minimize the damage caused by the natural disaster, the provincial chairman told several districts and the city to mobilize forces and equipment to be ready for fighting flooding and supporting locals.
