HCMC – The State Bank of Vietnam (SBV) has proposed raising the maximum ratio of short-term funds that commercial banks can use for medium- and long-term lending to 40% from the current 30%, in a move aimed at boosting credit supply for economic growth.

HCMC – This morning saw the price of SJC gold bars at major gold trading entities decreasing by over VND1 million to VND77 million per tael.
At around 10 a.m. today, the Saigon Jewelry Company (SJC) in HCMC quoted gold bars at VND77 million per tael for buying and VND79 million per tael for selling. Compared to yesterday’s close, the buying price was down by VND1.3 million and the selling price was down by VND800,000, according to bieudogiavang.vn. Similarly, the buying and selling prices of gold bars at DOJI ranged from VND77 million to VND79 million per tael, a decrease of VND1.3 million per tael for buying and VND800,000 per tael for selling against the previous day. The price of SJC gold bars at Bao Tin Minh Chau was quoted at VND77.1 million per tael for buying, down by VND1.2 million, and at VND79 million per tael for selling, down by VND800,000 from the previous day. Meanwhile, the price of gold rings at many gold trading firms showed no significant volatility this morning. SJC Company quoted the price of 9999 gold rings at around VND76.15 million to VND77.45 million per tael, down by VND100,000 per tael for both buying and selling compared to yesterday’s close.
