HCMC – Thunderstorms have developed across southern Vietnam this morning June 3, with early rainfall reported in several parts of HCMC.
According to the Southern and Central Highlands Hydrometeorological Center, satellite imagery, weather radar, and lightning detection data indicate that thunderclouds are forming over provinces such as Hau Giang, Ben Tre, Tra Vinh, Kien Giang, Can Tho, Vinh Long, Dong Thap, An Giang, and Long An.
In Long An, thundercloud activity is intensifying and moving in a southwesterly direction toward HCMC. The city has experienced early signs of the system, with dark skies and rainfall observed since the early morning.
The weather agency forecasts that in the coming hours, thunderclouds will continue to expand and cause showers, lightning, and thunder in the affected areas. Rainfall is expected to range between 5mm and 30mm, with some locations seeing more than 40mm.
Meteorological authorities forecast that rainfall will increase in HCMC and southern provinces over the coming days.
