Each annual general meeting season is not only an occasion to review the operations of banks, but also a clear reflection of the broader industry picture, one of the stock groups with a major influence on the stock market and a “barometer” of the economy. Choosing between a stable career path and a creative passion is a crossroads many young people face, but few navigate it as boldly as Phạm Ngọc Khanh. After graduating with a degree in Restaurant Management in Canada, the former Vietnam Australia International School (VAS) student made a definitive decision to return to Vietnam and pursue her lifelong dream of becoming a performing artist and musical theater composer.

HCMC – Synopsys, one of the world’s leading providers of electronic design automation solutions and services, has cut a deal with the Saigon Hi-Tech Park (SHTP) to train integrated circuit (IC) design manpower.
Under the agreement signed on August 26, Synopsys will help SHTP establish an IC design center based on the former’s advanced technology that will develop support programs for universities to train advanced IC design talent in Vietnam. “The chip design center is aimed at nurturing future chip designers while they are still studying at university,” said Nguyen Anh Thi, representative of SHTP. The partnership between SHTP and Synopsys will facilitate semiconductor development in Vietnam, he added. The center will be in charge of receiving software and technology and offering in-depth training courses to students of IC design, Thi said. Robert Li, vice chairman of Synopsys for the Taiwanese and South Asian region, said that the chip production sector is facing a severe shortage of laborers, so the cooperation will partially help Vietnam, with a young workforce, tackle the challenge. “We hope the cooperation with SHTP will not only provide our partner with new technology, but also develop and nourish young chip design talent, and foster Vietnam’s semiconductor growth,” Li said.
