HCMC - Vietnam's population has surpassed 100 million people, marking a demographic milestone for the Southeast Asian nation even as it faces declining birth rates and a rapidly aging population.

HCMC – Heavy rain has caused severe flooding in central Vietnam, killing two people, leaving three others missing, and submerging many residential areas and roads under water as of the evening of November 15.
The provinces of Thua Thien-Hue and Quang Tri reported rainfalls ranging from 200 to an alarming 300 millimeters, and even 500 millimeters in some areas. Such  torrential downpours triggered massive floods along the Huong and Bo rivers, causing significant disruptions to the North-South railway and inundating residential areas and key road networks. In Quang Tri Province alone, more than 1,300 homes were submerged, resulting in widespread transportation disruptions across the region. From Danang to Quang Ngai, rainfalls averaged between 150 and 250 millimeters, with some areas seeing a staggering 400 millimeters. Hoi An City in Quang Nam Province also grappled with the crisis as upstream torrents compounded the deluge. South-central provinces, spanning from Binh Dinh to Ninh Thuan, recorded rainfalls ranging from 100 to 200 millimeters, peaking at 300 millimeters. Unpredictable weather conditions wreaked havoc on Phan Rang-Thap Cham, Ninh Thuan Province, submerging vast areas under water. Khanh Hoa Province faced intense flooding, with a section of National Highway 1 in Cam Ranh City submerged under 0.5-0.8 meters of water. Numerous districts in Nha Trang City also experienced inundation due to the unrelenting downpour.
