HCMC – Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh will participate in the 28th UN Climate Change Conference of the Parties (COP28) and make an official visit to Turkey from November 29 to December 3.

The tour comes at the invitations of the governments of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Turkey. During his time in the UAE, the PM will have an array of bilateral activities. This will be Prime Minister Chinh's first visit to Turkey in his current capacity, emphasizing its significance as both countries recently celebrated the 45th anniversary of diplomatic relations. In the past year, bilateral trade between Vietnam and Turkey reached US$1.65 billion. During the celebration of the 45th anniversary in October, leaders from both nations expressed their proactive cooperation to elevate bilateral trade to US$4 billion in the near future. As of May this year, Turkey stands as the 26th largest investor in Vietnam among 143 countries and territories, with 34 projects totaling US$974.26 million in pledged capital. This year, COP28 will be hosted by the UAE. Notably, the preceding COP27 was held in Egypt, drawing delegates from nearly 200 countries, including 120 heads of state.
