The event featured a combination of military units, civilian organizations, and international delegations, including participants from Russia, Laos, and Cambodia.
Earlier in the day, key roads leading to Ba Dinh Square were lined with crowds, national flags, flowers, and the sound of revolutionary music, reflecting widespread national pride ahead of the official celebration on September 2.
The rehearsal began at 8:00 pm under the supervision of senior government and military officials.
These included Nguyen Trong Nghia, head of the Party Central Committee's Commissions for Information, Education, and Mass Mobilization; General Phan Van Giang, Minister of National Defense; General Nguyen Tan Cuong, chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army; and Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Ngoc Lam, Deputy Minister of Public Security.
Representatives from the Ministry of National Defense, the Ministry of Public Security, and other state agencies were also in attendance.
Military formations marched through the square alongside an array of vehicles, including tanks, armored carriers, missile systems, and specialized police equipment.
Crowds lining the surrounding streets erupted in cheers as the parade passed.
The high turnout also boosted activity at nearby eateries and shops, especially along Quan Thanh and Thuy Ke Streets, where many vendors reported selling out of food and drinks well before the night ended.
