The milestone was shared by Nikhil Rolla, head of strategic accounts, SEA at TikTok, during the first TikTok SEA Apps Summit 2025 in Hanoi on Wednesday.

According to the company, the platform attracts more than 160 million users each month in Indonesia, 70 million in Vietnam, 50 million in Thailand, and around 180 million more across other Southeast Asian markets, where users turn to TikTok daily for entertainment, learning, and discovery of new things.

TikTok today has become a major destination for app discovery and a driver of business growth in sectors such as gaming, finance, tourism, and retail.

Statistics show that two-thirds of the users who explore new apps on TikTok do so intentionally, while 45 percent continue to learn more about them directly on the platform.

This demonstrates social media’s growing influence in user decision-making, extending beyond pure entertainment.

At the event, TikTok also signed a memorandum of understanding with the Digital Transformation Center under Vietnam’s Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism.

The partnership aims to accelerate Vietnam’s digital transformation, strengthen the digital ecosystem by supporting local businesses, promoting cultural exchange, and driving sustainable digital growth.

Digital transformation experts noted the high traffic on TikTok in Southeast Asia, with Vietnam among the most active markets, highlighting the platform’s growing influence and the potential for greater public–private collaboration in cultural and creative industries development.

They say this opens up broad opportunities for cooperation in digital content, creative communications, and technology workforce development.

It also reflects Vietnam’s efforts to promote a digital economy in line with international integration, reaffirming the country’s position in the region’s digital transformation network.
