Many residents were reportedly left shaken by the intensity of the tornado, which lasted only seconds but caused widespread damage.
On Monday morning, homes along National Highway 40B in Chien Dan Commune were left roofless, with sheets of metal scattered across the road and debris littering the area.
Several walls collapsed and broken tiles covered the ground.

Nguyen Thi Hoa, owner of a small coffee and billiards shop in Chien Dan, said her entire roof was blown away.
At around 10:00 pm after a heavy downpour, she turned off power to her shop and shut it down shortly before hearing a deafening roar, she recalled.
“I was terrified. I hid under the billiards table. When I came out 30 seconds later, everything was gone,” she said.
Ung Tan Nhon, another resident, described a noise “like a train rushing past” as the tornado ripped off roof tiles and hurled pieces of metal across his yard.

According to Le Van Ninh, chairman of the Chien Dan Commune People’s Committee, the tornado damaged around 56 structures, including 27 homes with torn roofs and three houses severely destroyed.
Four residents suffered injuries and were taken to hospital for treatment.
Local police, militia, and officials worked overnight to clear roads, remove fallen trees, and assist families whose homes were heavily damaged.
“We are continuing to help people clean up and are preparing support plans,” Ninh said.

The tornado also tore off the roof of the Tam Ky toll station on the Da Nang-Quang Ngai Expressway, pulling down cabins and temporarily shutting down fee collection.
The Expressway Traffic Police Unit No. 5 and the road management unit worked through the night to restore operations, and traffic resumed on Monday morning.
