As part of General Secretary and President To Lam’s trip to the United States to attend the high-level general debate of the 81st United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) and conduct bilateral activities, Vietjet/Galaxy Holdings-Telecom and Starlink, the satellite internet service developed and operated by SpaceX, signed a strategic cooperation agreement to provide passengers with free, high-speed Wi-Fi on Vietjet flights.
The agreement was exchanged in the presence of senior leaders and business representatives from both countries, marking a new step in high-tech cooperation between Vietnam and the United States.
In the initial phase, Starlink will be installed on 120 Vietjet aircraft, including 100 Airbus A321 and Boeing 737 aircraft and 20 Airbus A330 aircraft.
Vietjet will also equip aircraft joining its fleet in the future with high-speed internet, extending coverage across its domestic and international network.
With high speeds, low latency and coverage over oceans, polar regions and remote areas, Starlink will allow passengers to work, communicate, stream content and stay entertained during their flights.
Vietjet aims to make high-speed Wi-Fi, once considered a premium amenity, an essential and accessible digital service on its daily flights.

Dr. Nguyen Thi Phuong Thao, chairman of Vietjet's board, said: "With Starlink, air travel will no longer be a period of disconnection. Passengers can continue working, relaxing and staying connected as they would on the ground. This reflects the airline's pioneering spirit of bringing the world's leading technological advances to everyone."
Tim Hughes, SpaceX's senior vice president of global business, said: "Bringing Starlink to Vietjet flights will expand the high-speed internet service we are providing to households and businesses in Vietnam. The platform will make every passenger journey better, more seamless and more enjoyable."
The Starlink agreement marks the beginning of a long-term technology partnership between Vietjet and SpaceX.
Alongside its modern fleet, data, artificial intelligence and skilled workforce, the airline is building a digital aviation ecosystem designed to connect millions of passengers with the world throughout their journeys.
