The ministry announced the plan at a promotion conference, saying the exhibition is scheduled to take place from December 10 to December 13 at Gia Lam Airport in Hanoi.

Organizers said the event will span about 150,000 square meters and feature a range of activities, including aerial demonstrations by the air force and martial arts performances by special forces.

The exhibition will include booths displaying defense and security products from domestic and international companies, including newly developed equipment designed and manufactured by Vietnam's defense industry, as well as notable weapons and technical equipment currently in service with the Vietnam People's Army.

Organizers said the exhibits aim to convey Vietnam's defense policy of peace and self-defense, stressing that the country does not pursue an arms race but focuses on protecting national sovereignty and maintaining stability for development.

They added that many showcased products are domestically researched and produced, including dual-use and smart technologies suited to modern warfare requirements.

The exhibition will also serve to promote Vietnam's image as a peace-loving country and highlight its culture and people.

In addition to displays, the event will host technical seminars, business networking activities, and exchanges between government agencies and companies, alongside cultural and artistic programs.

Lieutenant General Nguyen Truong Thang, deputy defense minister and head of the organizing committee, said the expo is a key external relations activity in defense industry cooperation and international integration.

He said the ministry aims to increase private-sector participation and funding, gradually reducing reliance on the state budget and mobilizing resources from businesses, including major corporations inside and outside the military.

The ministry has tasked relevant agencies with coordinating funding plans and encouraging contributions from participating enterprises, he added.
