According to the Bac Ninh Project Management Board for Transport and Agriculture No. 1, the new road will be two kilometers long and 60 meters wide, starting from Vo Van Kiet Street and ending at Provincial Road 398 in Nenh Ward.
The project, to be carried out between 2026 and 2029, will be fully financed by the provincial budget.
Compensation, support, and resettlement costs will account for the majority of the total, at about VND552 billion ($21 million).
The Bac Ninh Project Management Board will coordinate project preparation, while the Nenh Ward administration is responsible for site clearance and resettlement.
The board said the new route will help ease severe congestion on nearby roads, including the Hanoi-Bac Giang Expressway frontage road, Provincial Road 398, and National Highway 37, particularly around the Van Trung, Quang Chau, and Viet Han industrial zones that employ a total of around 190,000 workers.
The road will also improve transport capacity for industrial logistics, facilitate firefighting and security operations, and contribute to Bac Ninh’s plan to become a centrally governed city by 2030.
Traffic congestion has long plagued the area, with thousands of workers and vehicles gridlocked on narrow frontage roads during the rush hour.
In July this year, the provincial administration directed relevant departments to address the issue following a proposal from Foxconn Technology Group, a key manufacturing partner of Apple, which operates in the Quang Chau Industrial Park.
