Among the 27 Wi-Fi hotspots being put into operation, 15 sites are located at Ninh Kieu Wharf, six at Luu Huu Phuoc Park in Ninh Kieu Ward, two at Song Hau Park in Cai Khe Ward, and four at Cai Rang Floating Market in Cai Rang Ward, according to the municipal Department of Science and Technology.

Each hotspot supports at least 256 devices simultaneously, with a coverage radius of 350 meters under standard conditions.

Officials said the sites were chosen for their high density of residents and visitors, as well as their role in hosting cultural, tourism, and festival activities.

Ngo Anh Tin, head of the Department of Science and Technology, said that the 27 public Wi-Fi hotspots were installed within a short period of time to support the city's 2026 digital transformation plan.

After evaluation, more hotspots will be added in areas such as Soc Trang, Tran De, and Vi Thuy.

The Mekong Delta city also plans to install additional public Wi-Fi hotspots at industrial parks in 2027.
