Under the agreement, announced at a ceremony in Hanoi, the two companies will form a strategic partnership to turn the stadium into a leading destination for major international sporting, cultural and entertainment events.

The stadium features a distinctive design incorporating imagery of the Dong Son bronze drum, including the Lac bird motif, which represents Vietnam's millennia-old cultural heritage, into a contemporary architectural style conveying strength and pride.

With a planned capacity of 135,000 seats, the stadium will feature an automatic retractable roof, a playing surface designed to accommodate events in accordance with FIFA standards, real-time security management and crowd-flow coordination systems, and measures to support sustainable operations.

The stadium is expected to attract major international events and tourists, boost Vietnam's sports economy and raise Hanoi's profile on the global stage.

Under the agreement, Legends Global will help bring top-tier events to the stadium and work with Vingroup to manage the venue and its facilities, coordinate suppliers, and operate on-site services in line with international professional standards.

Drawing on its experience managing more than 450 venues worldwide, organizing over 20,000 major events and welcoming more than 165 million visitors annually, Legends Global will also help build the capabilities of Vingroup's venue management team in Vietnam.

Speaking at the ceremony, Nguyen Viet Quang, vice-chairman and CEO of Vingroup, underscored that the VinFast - Trong Dong Stadium would be more than just a sports facility.

"With its world-leading scale, contemporary architecture featuring Vietnamese symbols, automatic retractable roof and playing surface designed to accommodate events in accordance with FIFA standards, we expect to work with Legends Global to turn the venue into a hub for the world's premier sporting, cultural and entertainment events," he said.

Dan Levy, CEO of Legends Global, said the stadium was an impressive project that would help put Hanoi at the center of the global live events industry.

"Legends Global is honored to partner with Vingroup on this iconic project and stands ready to share its expertise in event management and operations to help realize Vingroup's ambitions and vision for the world's largest stadium," he said.

Peter Loxton, chief operating officer for Asia Pacific and the Middle East at Legends Global, said he expected the experience of fans, athletes, artists, organizers and partners to match the stadium's scale from its first major event.

"Our long-term exclusive partnership with Vingroup will enable Legends Global to combine global expertise with local talent to develop Vietnam's capabilities in venue management," he said.

The agreement also allows Legends Global to provide Vingroup with services related to stadiums, arenas and live events in Vietnam.

Paul Sergeant OBE, a veteran venue management and stadium expert from Legends Global, has arrived in Hanoi to oversee technical preparations and pre-opening work.

Recruitment for the stadium's operational team is also underway ahead of its planned opening.
