The three displays will begin simultaneously at 9:00 pm.
The launch sites are located in front of Hanoi Post Office in Hoan Kiem Ward, along Quang Khanh Street near West Lake in Tay Ho Ward, and at Van Quan Lake in Ha Dong Ward.
All three sites will feature high- and low-altitude fireworks combined with pyrotechnic effects.
A total of 4,025 high-altitude fireworks shells will be used, including 1,725 at Hoan Kiem, 1,800 at Tay Ho and 500 at Ha Dong.
The displays will also include 1,175 low-altitude fireworks shells and 110 racks. The Tay Ho site will feature an additional 200 waterborne fireworks shells.
The program will use 1,280 pyrotechnic racks, including 350 on Hoan Kiem Lake, 900 on West Lake and 30 on the shore of Van Quan Lake.
Preparations for the launch sites took place from October 7 to 10. The displays will run from 9:00 pm to 9:15 pm.
Road closures for fireworks displays
Authorities began installing solid barriers at 11:00 pm on October 7, closing half of Dinh Tien Hoang Street along Hoan Kiem Lake, from the junction with Le Thach Street to the junction with Dinh Le Street.
From 6:00 pm on October 10 until the displays end, Dinh Tien Hoang Street will be closed from the junction with Tran Nguyen Han Street to the intersection with Trang Tien Street.
In Tay Ho Ward, Quang Khanh Street has been closed from 7:00 am on October 7 until the fireworks displays end, along the section from the Quang Khanh–Phu Tay Ho junction to transformer station No. 25 at 47 Quang Khanh Street.
Where to get the best views
Hoan Kiem Lake
Spectators can look for viewing spots around the lake, at Dong Kinh Nghia Thuc Square and along nearby pedestrian streets, depending on visibility and access restrictions.
Open stretches along the lakeside with unobstructed views toward the launch site are suitable for those who want to enjoy the festive atmosphere in the capital's center.
Visitors should avoid areas where trees block the view, particularly if they want to see the low-altitude fireworks and pyrotechnic effects over the water.
Restaurants and cafes on upper floors along Dinh Tien Hoang, Le Thai To and Cau Go streets are other options. Seats facing the lake without buildings obstructing the view may allow visitors to enjoy food or coffee while watching the show.
Rooftop bars and hotels around the lake and in the Old Quarter are also worth considering. Before making a reservation, visitors should confirm whether the venue offers a direct view of Hanoi Post Office and the lake, including the low-altitude fireworks and pyrotechnic effects, and check any service charges.
Visitors are advised to arrive early, park only in designated areas and follow instructions from authorities.
West Lake
Along Trich Sai and Ve Ho streets, spectators can look for open views across the water, offering opportunities to photograph the fireworks against the lake. They should choose spots where trees do not obstruct the view toward the launch site.
Nguyen Dinh Thi Street along the lake is another option for watching the high-altitude fireworks.
Cafes with lake-facing balconies may also provide suitable viewing spots. However, visitors should ask whether their seats offer a direct view of the launch site on Quang Khanh Street, as a view of the lake does not necessarily guarantee a clear view of the fireworks.
Spectators should avoid the restricted section of Quang Khanh Street, from the Quang Khanh–Phu Tay Ho junction to transformer station No. 25 at 47 Quang Khanh Street, which will remain closed until the displays end.
As the program includes pyrotechnic effects over the water, visitors should prioritize spots with views of both the lake and the sky rather than locations where only the high-altitude fireworks are visible.
Van Quan Lake
In Ha Dong Ward, Van Quan Lake offers open spaces, a park and walking paths around the water, providing a setting for residents to watch the fireworks and enjoy the festive atmosphere.
Nearby apartment buildings may offer residents views from home, while cafes such as Fordeer, Xanh Cafe, Cuc Cu Cafe and Laika provide places to wait for the display. Visitors should check the venues' viewing conditions before choosing where to watch.
