The department has reviewed the organization of BigBang’s '2026-2027 – XX: COSMOS' concerts, which attracted around 90,000 domestic and international spectators to My Dinh National Stadium.

According to the department, the October 24 and 25 concerts met public demand for cultural and artistic experiences while generating positive spillover effects for tourism, services, and the promotion of the capital’s image.

The event highlighted Hanoi’s potential and appeal as a destination for international music performances, while raising expectations for the management, organization, and safety of large-scale events.

The concerts also attracted widespread public and media attention at home and abroad, with domestic news organizations publishing around 200 reports and articles about the event.

BigBang concerts promote Hanoi as safe destination

The department reported that Hanoi welcomed around 220,000 tourist arrivals on October 23 and 24 alone, up 15.6 percent from the previous week, including approximately 67,900 international arrivals.

Demand for transportation, shopping, dining, and accommodation increased.

Flight bookings to Hanoi on Trip.com rose 74 percent, while searches for trips to the capital on Traveloka quadrupled.

Occupancy rates at some three- to five-star hotels reached 75-100 percent.

These results underscored the benefits of combining international music performances with destination promotion, tourism development, and service-sector growth.

“The event helped promote Hanoi as a safe destination for international tourists, creating opportunities to boost service consumption and enhance the capital’s image through domestic and international media channels,” the department said.

The event also provided a basis for Hanoi to further capitalize on links between culture, the arts, tourism and the economy, develop tourism products associated with major events, improve visitor experiences, and generate greater value from international cultural and entertainment activities.

The department added that the successful concerts demonstrated that Hanoi has the infrastructure needed to host world-class music festivals, meeting stringent requirements for stage technology, sound systems and safety imposed by leading entertainment companies.

Going forward, the city will continue improving management and safety measures for residents and tourists attending international cultural and artistic events, while strengthening links between culture, tourism, and services.

These efforts aim to harness cultural resources, promote the cultural industry, and establish the capital as a destination for professional, safe, well-organized, and influential cultural and entertainment events.

Vietnam’s live entertainment market has vast growth potential

On October 26, South Korea’s Financial News published an article about BigBang’s two concerts at My Dinh National Stadium, highlighting how Vietnam has in recent years transformed into a massive market with significant influence on the K-pop industry.

The economic impact of the BigBang concerts was estimated at VND800 billion ($31 million), exceeding that of BlackPink’s 2023 concert in Vietnam.

Along with Vietnam’s rapid economic growth, local audiences’ purchasing power for concert tickets has increased significantly.

Vietnam is also paying considerable attention to the spillover effects of the cultural and tourism industries.

Therefore, the growth potential of the live performance market in the future is enormous, Yoon Hwi, a representative of Carpa, the co-organizer of the BigBang concerts, told Financial News.
