Dragon Bridge breathes fire on weekends in Da Nang City, central Vietnam.
On August 24, the Da Nang Department of Construction said the municipal People's Committee had approved a plan to hold Dragon Bridge fire-and-water shows for six consecutive nights during the 2026 National Day holiday.
In addition to the regular weekend shows, the city will add three weekdays to the schedule.
The shows will run from the evening of August 28 through September 2, from Friday through Wednesday, to entertain residents and visitors during the National Day holiday.
Vietnam will celebrate its 81st National Day on September 2. The public holiday will run for five days, from August 29 to September 2, giving residents and visitors an extended break to travel and enjoy cultural and entertainment activities across the country.
Vo Thanh Duoc, director of Da Nang Bridge and Road Joint Stock Company, which operates Dragon Bridge, told Tuoi Tre (Youth) online newspaper that the fire-and-water shows are normally held every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
The show starts at 9:00 pm. Each performance begins with two rounds of fire, with nine bursts per round, followed by three rounds of water. The entire show usually lasts about 15 minutes.
This time, the city has approved the extended six-night schedule to give visitors more opportunities to enjoy the attraction.
"This is not a new activity, but recently it has attracted large numbers of international tourists. It has also become increasingly popular among visitors on international travel forums," Duoc said.
The operator has coordinated with relevant agencies to develop plans to ensure public order and traffic safety on the nights of the shows, he said.
The six-night run is an unusual extension of Dragon Bridge's fire-and-water performances.
The Da Nang Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism expects the event to attract more residents and visitors during the holiday.
