Metro line No. 1, which runs from Ben Thanh Station in downtown District 1 to Suoi Tien Coach Station in Thu Duc City, a district-level unit under Ho Chi Minh City, is set to offer nearly 240 trips on that day to help residents and visitors access key celebration zones in District 1.
Nguyen Thi Thanh Thuy, a resident of Binh Thanh District, shared that she and her family members planned to ride the metro to the heart of the city to watch the grand military parade on April 30.
“However, I'm not sure which station we should get off at and which area we can access to enjoy the festivities,” she said.
A representative from Ho Chi Minh City Urban Railway No. 1 Company Limited, which operates the first metro line, told Tuoi Tre (Youth) newspaper that passengers heading downtown via metro can disembark at Ba Son, Ben Thanh, or Ho Chi Minh City Opera House stations.
From there, they can walk to designated viewing areas or gather at one of the 21 LED screens set up across the city to broadcast the celebrations.

Residents are reminded not to enter the restricted zones, where security personnel will be stationed to control access.
Areas near Bach Dang Wharf, Nguyen Hue Pedestrian Street, Le Loi, and Le Lai Streets are expected to attract large crowds as revelers can enjoy military parades, ceremonial cannon displays, and aerial stunts involving helicopters and fighter jets.
The metro operator has dispatched additional staff to the stations to manage crowd flow, enforce safety regulations, and assist with navigation.
Passengers are urged to maintain public cleanliness, follow station staff instructions, and prioritize seating for the elderly, children, and pregnant women.
Also, they are recommended to use electronic ticketing options in advance to avoid congestion at ticket booths and ensure a smooth, efficient travel experience.
“The extended hours and increased train frequency are part of the city’s efforts to encourage public transport use during the national holiday, easing traffic jams and promoting urban mobility,” said the representative.
The metro operates 200 trips per day, running from 5:00 am to 10:00 pm.
