“As Vietnam is famous for its coffee culture, the country would be an excellent market to raise awareness of Indonesian coffee,” Septania Rubi Prameswari, Consul for Economic Affairs of the Consulate General of Indonesia in Ho Chi Minh City, told Tuoi Tre News, referring to Indonesia's participation in Coffee Expo Vietnam 2026.
Held from October 29 to 31 in Ho Chi Minh City, Coffee Expo Vietnam 2026 featured 175 brands across 350 booths and attracted an estimated 10,000 visitors.
Coffee Expo Vietnam 2026 marked the event's 10th anniversary, celebrating a decade of supporting businesses in the coffee, tea and bakery industries.
With seven companies representing Indonesia's coffee, tea, vanilla, cocoa and other food ingredients related to the coffee industry, the Indonesian Pavilion aimed to showcase high-quality products to the Vietnamese market while exploring strategic partnerships, distribution channels and commercial agreements with local and international businesses.
“Indonesia has a diverse range of single-origin coffee beans from different regions and islands. Each coffee has its own distinctive taste. We would like to raise awareness of the uniqueness of Indonesian coffee,” Prameswari said.
“Additionally, our vanilla is also a well-known commodity worldwide, second only to Madagascar,” she added.
“Meanwhile, one of the exhibitors showcases a special sugar called ‘gula aren,’ which is made from Arenga palm and offers a unique sweetness.”
According to the Consulate General of Indonesia in Ho Chi Minh City, Indonesian exhibitors received inquiries from Vietnamese and international buyers at the expo.
The pavilion attracted visitors from various countries, including Vietnam, Middle Eastern countries, China, South Korea and other Asian nations.
Many visitors were curious about the diversity of Indonesian coffee.

Prameswari said she hoped exhibitors would recognize Vietnam's growing market potential and seize opportunities to expand their businesses there.
“We also expect the exhibitors to see the readiness of the Vietnam market to be open for new products and new experiences,” she added.
According to Prameswari, Indonesia and Vietnam, both among the world's leading coffee producers and exporters, have opportunities to cooperate rather than compete in the coffee supply chain.
She believed that educating the market is crucial for consumers, so that consumers can opt for their preference and pick what is suitable for them.
“We believe that Indonesia could introduce the diversity and richness of its coffee beans, showing that each region has its own distinctive taste notes,” she said.
“Meanwhile, the Vietnamese market could show how coffee has become a part of their lives, where ideas, communities, and relationships grow,” Prameswari added.
Consul for Economic Affairs Septania Rubi Prameswari said that Vietnamese coffee is well-known in Indonesia, and the society is open to receiving the presence of Vietnamese coffee.
Several coffee shop chains, such as Cong Caphe and Three O’Clock have already expanded their stores in Indonesia.
“We believe that this is only the beginning and we will see more brands expanding,” she said.
