Ricky Ip, the company’s talent acquisition lead for Asia-Pacific, said on social media platform X that Tesla was seeking candidates for five full-time positions.
The openings include sales manager, service manager, HR business partner, purchasing manager and a project developer responsible for developing electric vehicle charging infrastructure.
The charging infrastructure position is particularly noteworthy, as the charging network is a key factor in the development of the electric vehicle business.
Meanwhile, recruitment for sales and service positions suggests that Tesla is preparing personnel to support vehicle distribution and after-sales services.
The move comes more than a month after Tesla established a legal entity in Vietnam.
Tesla Motors Vietnam Limited Liability Company was registered on September 11, with its headquarters at Me Linh Point Tower, No. 2 Ngo Duc Ke Street, Sai Gon Ward, Ho Chi Minh City.
The company has charter capital of more than VND77 billion (approximately US$3 million).
According to its business registration, its activities include wholesale and retail sales of automobiles and spare parts, as well as related import, export and distribution activities.
The establishment of the company and the recruitment drive are seen as preparatory steps toward operating Tesla’s business in Vietnam.

Tesla is an American electric vehicle maker led by billionaire Elon Musk.
Its vehicle lineup includes the Model 3, Model Y, Model S, Model X and Cybertruck.
In addition to electric vehicles, the company also operates in energy storage and develops a network of charging stations.
If Tesla officially begins selling vehicles in Vietnam, it will enter a market where VinFast, BYD and several other Chinese automakers are already present.
Although Tesla has not disclosed which models it might distribute locally, the Model 3 is a likely candidate because it is the brand’s most affordable model.
Tesla Cybertrucks have also been spotted in Vietnam. Although these vehicles were privately imported, their presence points to the possibility of the model appearing on the local market.
In his recruitment announcement, Ricky Ip also shared an image of the Tesla Roadster. The high-priced sports car is not an affordable option for most buyers, but reservations have opened in Southeast Asia, raising the possibility that it could also be offered to customers in Vietnam.
