The race took place along the Bao Dinh River in Tan An City, covering the stretch between Bao Dinh Bridge and Duc Bridge.
The event drew teams from military units and localities across the province competing in men’s, women’s, mixed doubles, and team events.
Thanh Hoa District topped the overall medal tally, securing two gold medals in the women’s doubles and mixed team events, two silver medals in the women’s team and mixed doubles, and a bronze in the men’s team race.
The provincial Military Command finished second overall with gold medals in the men’s doubles and men’s team categories.
Moc Hoa District placed third with a gold in mixed doubles and silvers in women’s and mixed doubles.
The race is one of several cultural and sporting activities organized to mark the national reunification anniversary.
Other events include a commemorative golf tournament and upgrades to local tourist attractions and historical sites, which will remain open to visitors during the five-day Reunification Day holiday, lasting from April 30 to May 4.
Long An is also hosting two major events: a ceremony marking the 50th anniversary of provincial liberation and national reunification, and an exhibition showcasing the province’s socio-economic, defense, and political achievements over the past five decades.
