According to Hanoi Sewerage and Drainage Company Limited, as of 6:00 am on Tuesday, heavy rain had caused flooding and waterlogging at several locations, affecting traffic on Dam Quang Trung, Co Linh, and Vinh Hung Streets; National Highway 6; and Thang Long Boulevard.
Data collected from 10:00 pm on Monday to 6:00 am on Tuesday showed exceptionally high accumulated rainfall.
Among inner-city wards, Yen So recorded the highest rainfall at 270.4mm, including 142.8mm between 10:00 pm and 6:00 am.
Several other areas also recorded more than 150mm of rain, including Hai Ba Trung (219.2mm), Trieu Khuc-Thanh Liet (175.5mm), Ho Linh Dam pumping station in Hoang Liet Ward (162.5mm), Nguyen Khuyen-Van Mieu (158.4mm), Nguyen Chinh-Hoang Mai (157.3mm), and Phung Hung-Hoan Kiem (156mm).
The heavy rain also caused water levels in rivers and regulating lakes to rise rapidly.
